A failure to comply results in the loss of forum membership. The fact that many key members have not had sufficient time to review and sign the IPR agreement will likely result in a low participation during the face-to-face in Norway and a significant delay in the discussion and adoption of on-going Forum work product.

    April 6, 2012 by Ben WilsonBallot 67 – Adopt IPR Policy (Passed) Motion Jeremy Rowley made the following motion, and Gervase Markham and Dean Coclin endorsed it: Motion begins As of April 8, 2012 (“Effective Date”), the CA/Browser Forum adopts Rev. 0_99.2 of ‘CA/Browser Forum Intellectual Property Rights Policy’ and the ‘CAB Forum IPR Policy Agreement’ – available at: and respectively, as v1.0 of its ‘IPR Policy’ and ‘IPR Agreement’, respectively. Members have 60 days from the Effective Date to sign the IPR Agreement and comply with the IPR Policy’s disclosure requirements for all previously enacted requirements, including the Baseline Requirements version 1.
    The Certification Authority Browser Forum (CA/Browser Forum) is a voluntary gathering of Certificate Issuers and suppliers of Internet browser software and other applications that use certificates (Certificate Consumers).
