SMC-002 Confirmation Ballot for Vice Chair

Voting Results

Following a ballot, Martijn Katerbarg has been confirmed to act as Vice Chair of the S/MIME Certificate Working Group (SMCWG) for a two-year term, commencing November 1.

Thank you to Mads Henriksveen of Buypass who previously served in the role of SMCWG Vice Chair as the working group developed the draft S/MIME Baseline Requirements.

Ballot

A single nomination has been received for Vice Chair of the SMCWG. Thus a confirmation ballot will be held.

Motion begins

RESOLVED: That Martijn Katerbarg be elected Vice Chair of the S/MIME Certificate Working Group of the CA/Browser Forum for a two-year term, to begin at the expiration of the current term.

Motion ends

The discussion period (7 days) will be held:

Start: Friday, 7 October 2022 at 1700 ET (Eastern) End: Friday, 14 October 2022 at 1700 ET (Eastern)

At the conclusion of the discussion period, a further notice will provide details on the voting period (also 7 days).

Voting Details

During the voting period, votes must be cast by an on-list reply to this email thread using the list.

A vote in favor of the motion must indicate a clear ‘yes’ in the response. A vote against must indicate a clear ‘no’ in the response. A vote to abstain must indicate a clear ‘abstain’ in the response. Unclear responses will not be counted.

The latest vote received from any representative of a Voting Member before the close of the voting period will be counted.

Voting Members (Certificate Consumers and Certificate Issuers) are listed at /working-groups/smime-certificate-wg/.

In accordance with the By-Laws, the single nominee is considered confirmed if a majority of the Voting Members who vote are in favor of the appointment, regardless of the number of votes cast and irrespective of the proportion of Voting Member categories.
